Located along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) where she crosses Highway 2 and the entrance to Blue Ridge Truck Trial. This is a quick, off the trail, grab access from the PCT.
Nearby you will find a "Water Cache" for the PCT backpackers where water is seldom found east for many miles on Section D of the PCT. This location is not listed on the water report but it's used to serve between D3 and D4 of the report (http://www.4jeffrey.net/pct/a.htm). It would be generous if us geocachers could contribute by dropping off some water at the Water Cache.
On a clear day, the views at nearby Inspiration Point are amazing especially when the fog rolls through the Vincent's Gulch below. Views of Mt. Baldy and Mt. Baden Powell offer opportunity for a photo opt.
You are in critter country and snakes have been spotted along this trail. As always, never stick your hand in dark places and use a stick to shake up things. I've been in the area many times and have only seen one beautiful Mountain King Snake.
