Geocache Description:

In conjunction with National Public Lands Day (http://www.publiclandsday.org/) and the New Mexico Centennial (http://nmcentennial.org/), Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park is hosting a geocaching event, for newcomers and experienced caches alike.  Come join us from 8 am to Noon for a morning of fun and frolic!  A $5 admission fee per car (or State Park pass) is necessary to enter but the event is otherwise free.

The goal of National Public Lands Day is to get people outside to enjoy nature and late September is the perfect time to enjoy our local state park.  For this event, we have a number of activities designed to entertain both novice cachers as well as the experts.
  • 8 - 9 am: Pastries and beverages to fuel your searches
  • 9 am: Racer57 will disuss the use of and technology behind the GPS devices we use in geocaching.
  • All morning:  There will be signature event items for girl scouts to earn their merit badge as well as a table of trackable items
  • Experienced cachers will also help lead newcomes on a geo tour of the park, helping them locate the various caches laid throughout the park.
  • A few surprises and puzzles will delight even the most experienced cachers, including custom souvenirs.
Please come out to enjoy the event; when you RSVP, let us know how many will be attending in your party and whether you can help out with some of the newer cachers in attendance.

We look forward to seeing all of you!
