Geocache Description:

The CLAMPS

When discussing Clamps, some people could say there is a lot of crossover with the term forceps, and that is true to a point, but I prefer to keep clamps as defined by having ringed handles seperate from the tweezer type forceps.  As with all groups of surgical intruments, clamps come in many sizes and shapes as well as uses.  Most clamps work on the same principle as a pair of scissors, you seperate the ringed handles and the jaws open.  The jaws are where the main differences between the clamps are evident.  Smooth, jagged, grooved, lined or with teeth they all have their own special purpose.  Some are designed to grasp delicate tissue without causing damage, others can hold bone in place while a surgeon passes a saw near it.  One clamp I am sure most would recognize is a hemostat, which it name applies is used to clamp blood vessels to stop excessive bleeding.
Well now that you have a little insight into a couple more tools used in surgery, I will tell you that this series is based on something I am very passionate about.  Not only has it been the main source of my income for almost 2 decades, it also has shown me the best and worst of the human race.... DESCRIPTION: This cache is close to home, park in the area along Epler or inside the subdivision on the main street.  Only a log BYOP!!Congrats to brcross95 for being the FTF!!
