Voici ce qu’on peut lire à propos du sentier de la liberté sur le site de la mairie d’Ivry-sur-Seine :
« Invisible depuis la rue Louis Bertrand, cette ruelle rappelle le passé maraîcher d'Ivry, tout comme les rues Antoine Thomas et René Villars, avec ses vestiges de cultures à flanc de coteau, ses vignes et autres arbres fruitiers. Une légende ivryenne veut que ce sentier ait été nommé ainsi en souvenir de l'anarchiste braqueur de banques, Jules Bonnot. Caché à Ivry après avoir semé quelques cadavres derrière lui, il est pris en chasse par la police le 24 avril 1912 et réussit à leur fausser compagnie en s'échappant par le sentier de la liberté. Quatre jours plus tard, il est abattu à Choisy-le-Roi. »
Sur les traces de Bonnot, à en croire la légende, vous découvrirez un joli p'tit coin d’Ivry. Bonne balade.

« This path, invisible from the Louis Bertrand street, recalls the farming past of Ivry - as the Antoine Thomas and René Villars streets do - with its remains of the hillside cultivation, its vineyards and its other fruit trees. One of the local legends says that this path was named as such in memory of an anarchist bank robber, Jules Bonnot. Hidden in Ivry, leaving a few bodies behind him, he was being chased by the police on the 24th of april 1912 and succeeded in ditching them through the sentier de la liberté. Four days later, he was shot at Choisy-le-Roi. »
