Geocache Description:

Cachers come and cachers go. It's strange to look at the logs for really old caches and see some of the names. A few of those cachers are still active in the game, but there are some that have stopped.

Todays cachers are a different breed from what they used to be and geocaching has changed as well. Just ask the "seasoned" cachers and they will tell you.

Within the Moncton area there are a few names that come up from time to time of those that have disappeared. FunkyNassau is one of them, although sometimes not mentioned in a good way.

But he did have some great caches in some senic places.

Some that required some work.

 One about a local legend.

One that made me take the hard way and climb the side of a mountain.

And one that made me wade through a swamp. Sorry I had to remove that one but it was one heck of a hike.

There are many caches of his that I have not found yet and a lot have disappeared like the cacher. Some say he was one heck of a cacher back in his day. I liked those that I did find. Most had something to see or were located at out of the way places. The place I like to cache.

Maybe I'm being too nostalgic here, not having cached back in the day. But this got me thinking about the way caching used to be. Long hikes and 5 to 10 caches was a big day so I've been told. But then again, you can never go back. The game has changed and so have the players. We move forward.

This cache is in the area where the FunkyNassau cache Sum of a Bench used to be. It made me learn a little bit and was a fun cache to do. A cache you had to work for. It wasn't about the numbers.

And this really isn't a cache dedicated to FunkyNassau. It's more about the fact that for new cachers there is a little more to this game than quick park and grabs or guardrail caches. ( Although there's nothing wrong with a quick P&G once in a while )

This isn't a long hike but you do have to walk. And it isn't as hard as Funky's but you do still have to think a little.

The start is only seed coordinates. When you get there find " 27 ". The cache is 60 meters " Magnetic East ".
