Family Tradition Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-Rusty-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

We started geocaching in the beginning of this year (2012), introduced my sister and her family a few months later, and it became another one of the many things we did together.  At the beginning of this month, they had to move to Georgia.  We used to take are kids to the park on a regular basis so we decided before they left we would hide a treasure together at one of the parks we would go to.  The seven of us went on to "bury" our own treasure together.

This spot was an important meeting point for the three Algonquin Indian Tribes, Ottawo, Ojibwa and Potowanami, during the late 1700's. It felt like the perfect spot for us to hide this here knowing this was one of our meeting points as well.   Park in the Nankin Mills parking area, the closest area would be by the small wooded bridge back towards the baseball diamond.  We made sure we waited for a good rain before we logged this to make sure it could withstand the Hines flooding.  No problems at all.
