Geocache Description:

"Look, up in the sky!! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!"

Anybody remember that? Of course you do. Strange thing is, why did that person look up so shocked that he saw a bird or a plane in the sky? Kinda weird, don't you think? I wonder if he gets as excited about a cloud.

Greetings from HCRGCL (aka, Happy Crazy Robot Geo Caching Labs)

I tried to make this as much as a challenge as possible within the rules of the game, but just figured I'd make it a challenge to you personally to find this out on your own.

This is "What's That?!? (I)", part one in a series of several hundred thousand in the coming weeks. (give or take...)

I have an insatiable appetite for wondering what things are. Odd equipment on the median...old buildings...that highway exit they never finished...etc. I already knew what this thing was since I was a child. But I figured perhaps the vast majority don't know what it is. Heck, most have never even noticed it! Until now.

I bring up the old Superman TV intro because nobody  who thinks he sees a a bird would call attention to it in shock and disbelief. But you will look up at this thing, and say "What's that?!?" (Don't shout and then point at that because people will think you are crazy! [Unless it really is a guy flying!])

I know what it is. I'm not bragging though. This is just one of those things I always knew since I was a kid because of an activity I was and still am a part of. What I like about this little challenge is how does a person see this thing and try to figure out what it is? It takes some creative Googling. So, just to help a bit, here's a little hint:

There is another one of these exactly 400 feet due south! (180 degrees true.) But that one isn't about 40 feet up. It's at ground level.

So what's the deal? What's That?!?

You can no longer make the official logging of a cache contingent upon the knowledge requested from the CO, so I'll put this little challenge upon you. If you are a curiosity freak, such as myself, you just might want to know what that is! If you already know, then send me a message. Just so you'll know, there is a direct historical connection between this thing and our beloved GPS(r)'s. You get the smiley face on your map either way once you make the grab and sign. If you had to look it up to know what it is, let me know how you went about it! And if you don't know, that's cool. I'll tell you! Hopefully you will have giddy excitement learning about some random thing like this.

So get your cache on!

PLEASE NOTE THAT LOG AND LOG CONTAINER ARE MICROS AND AS SUCH PLEASE DO NOT PUT STICKERS ON THE LOG.
