Scrooge Cache #2 What's That Secret You're Keepin' Mystery Cache

Scrooge_fan: Sadly this cache has disappeared. I suspect the WCFP people took it even though I have a permit to place caches in the Forest Preserve. I spent about 15 hours building this one and one other that also disappeared. Lucky I'm retired because I have time to start over. Need to find a safer spot.

You have three puzzles to solve to get to the cache. And 3 to solve for the first to find to find the cash. A $2 bill in this case.

Replace the numbered blanks with the correct letters, then the letter will represent the number it replaced.

Unfortunately, when you reach the cache location you will not be able to get to the log sheet. You will be locked out. Don’t worry, here’s the key to open the lock.

R- For a reporter this number designates the end of a news story.

When you open the lock, you may have to fiddle a bit to get the thing open. My first plan for this container didn't work out, and instead of starting over I jerry-rigged this thing to make it work. You will have to fiddle with it to get it back together, but I know you are all smart folks. (My carpentry skill are better than this shows, but I wanted to get on with it.)

Once you open the lock you are faced with a Cryptex. To see what you will find, go to You Tube and search "How to make a Cryptex for $15." I recommend you go to this site to see how it works. I made one based on the plans here. Let me assure you that it was not as simple as the guy says and it cost quite a bit more than $15.

Somehow mine ended up with 7 dials rather than 8. Still, that leave you with thousands of possible combinations. After entering the right combination, pull on each end for the Cryptex to open. You may need to give it a firm tug.

Many of you have found my caches before, so you know who I am. Think about it.The only other clue I offer is that you need to think of a Dickens and Disney character.
