På 1970-talet var det livlig aktivitet vid Knipphamnen i Norra Vallgrund. Dit fördes virke som knippades ihop till stora buntar som sedan bogserades vidare, en stor del till Sverige. Vid strandkanten finns ännu kvar delar av konstruktionen som användes när massaveden fördes ner i vattnet för att knippas.
In the 1970s there was a lot of activity at Knipphamnen in Norra Vallgrund. Timber was brought there to be assembled into rafts that were subsequently floated to other destinations, a large quantity to Sweden. At the shore there are still remnants of the construction that were used to bring the timber into the water to be assembled.
