Geocache Description:

The cache is placed near the finish line of The Croft Hillclimb which takes place annually on Creightons Green Road, Holywood. The road is a quiet windy road which suits racing well but please be carefull whilst caching.

This cache will eventually form part of a series relating to 'King John's Highway'. The link below will take you to a page giving more information relating to the Right of Way and the ongoing legal battle to get part of it reopened, by North Down Borough Council.

I grew up not far from here and spent many a day walking up in these paths and hills as a youth as that's all we had when we were young.......our health and fitness and imagination.

As mentioned previously the Croft Hillclimb races up 'The Hooks' annually and is quite exciting if you have never experienced it before. Follow the link to learn more about this event.

At GZ there is a wonderfull view NW across Belfast and the Lough. I have watched fireworks and the Tall Ships from this vantage point. In the winter we used to do a bit of sledding down the fields and in bad snowfall the road as it was impassible to traffic.

The cache itself is a smallish screwtop plastic container. There is a log book and pencil and room for a few small swaps. Please no business cards.
There is room for a single vehicle beside GZ but be very careful to keep your tail in as it is on a bend.
