Geocache Description:

The beautiful village of Clavering deserves to have a cache to show off some of its’ gems, so this short multicache will take you past a few interesting locations. Parking available at cache coordinates and total walk of less than 1 mile.

The name Clavering means “the place where clover grows” and has been a settlement since Saxon times. There are many fine buildings including 85 listed buildings. Just before waypoint 2 you will pass The Bury, which is one of the oldest aisled hall houses in England and stands next to the ancient moated site of Clavering Castle and the flint-walled church.

There are opportunities on the way round to read more information about the village.

At waypoint 3 you will see The Old Guildhall, which has been a poorhouse, a school, a village hall and old people’s cottages in its’ time.

Whilst at the church, a short detour will take you to our church micro cache GC3W2HZ which can be picked up on the way round.

Final cache can be located at N51°5(G+A). CE(B+F) E000°08.GBD
