Geocache Description:

We're almost halfway to MOGA 2013!  Please join us to celebrate this almost-momentous occasion with a CITO in St. Charles, MO. In partnership with the St. Charles Parks Department, we'll be cleaning up and beautifying McNair Park.

Registration: 7:30 am - 8 am
CITO events: 8 am - 11 am
Lunch and fellowship: 11:30 am

Check back for updates between now and Oct. 6. This event will go on, rain or shine, so let's hope for lots of shine!

Think of this as our time to give back a very small portion of the enjoyment and personal reward we have experienced, all because of geocaching! Some of our greatest friends we met due to geocaching, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

As you arrive at the event, look for the pop-up tent. There will be a few options for you to sign up where we need your help: trash pick-up, pruning, mulching, etc. There will even be some kid-friendly CITO tasks. The park's horticulturist, Angela, has asked us to focus on the Braille Trail which is just inside the southern entrance to the park.

Please check the short list below for "must haves" and then show up, ready to dig in and really give back to the parks. The Parks department will have the necessary equipment available so we can complete our assigned tasks.

Let's show the St. Charles Parks department some SLAGA love by having a great attendance for this CITO. Kat and The Brad Wheeling (wheelinb) are hosting and lunch will be provided. There will also be some attendance prizes, so post your "Will Attend" right away. You won't want to miss out on this morning of fun and volunteering. We can also use this time to continue our discussion of how SLAGA will totally romp at MOGA 2013!

Remember, many hands make light work.

~Must Haves~ for this CITO event:
Wear long pants
Wear durable, sturdy shoes - please no sandals

Be sure to bring with you:
- gloves, if you have some, leather or sturdy cloth recommended
- a jacket or long-sleeved shirt
- a trash stick, only if you have one
- yard tools: a rake (hard and leaf), a shovel (round-end), or a cutting tool (pruners and/or loppers). Make sure if you bring tools that you mark them with your name and phone number!
- a water bottle (preferably reusable)
- sunscreen
- rain gear, only if applicable

Your hosts, along with SLAGA officers' support, will provide:
Large jug of drinking water
First aid kit
Tools, as available
Wipes
Hand sanitizer
Lunch (hot dogs, chips, veggie sticks, fruit)
Attendance prizes

If you can't make this event, please remember to CITO on every hunt! Cache In Trash Out doesn't just happen once a year. It can easily happen on every geocache adventure. Bring a trash bag along with you on your walks in the woods and pick up the occasional piece of trash you see on the trail. Even this small act can make a huge difference.
