Each of the 33 caches is named for a Manitoba community. Most are traditional caches. Two are multi caches where the final is hanging in a shrub directly across the road from the given coordinates. (Read that last sentence again to be sure you understand.) Ten of the caches are puzzles. There are ditches to cross and they may occasionally be wet or snowy - dress accordingly. Above all, we encourage you to enjoy this beautiful area with its multitude of kettle lakes (prairie sloughs) and the critters that call them home.
The city of Winkler is located at the westeern edge of the fertile Red River Valley. Sugar beets, canola, corn, beans and grain are all grown in the area. One of the major employers is Triple E, manufacturing recreational vehicles. Other businesses are also in manufacturing or in support the agriculture. A unique attraction is the set of four tours of the city using GPS technology to guide the visitor from one site to the next with coordinates and explanations posted online.
