This event, being held in Auckland, New Zealand, is part of a Worldwide Multi-Event on the 12th of December 2012, celebrating the date 12/12/12. It also happens to be the 12th month of the 12th year of Geocaching!
An event geocoin will be available to celebrate the 12/12/12 Worldwide Multi-Event. This is a collectable, but fully trackable geocoin designed for all of the events making up the multi-event all around the world, with each individual event, Auckland included, having it's own unique coin colour scheme.

This event will be mainly a social gathering as we have a bunch of fun games and activities planned for the 12-12-12 After Party event on the following Saturday.

EVENT GEOCOIN
This event is part of a series of events all around the world celebrating the 12th day of the 12th month of the 12th year of this century, and the 12th year of geocaching. Each event has a geocoin, all of the same design, but with different colouring. The Auckland 12-12-12 Event Geocoin artwork is shown below. It's a copper geocoin with glow-in-the-dark numbers and starburst on the back.
This is a strictly limited edition 2 inch 12 sided coin, fully trackable on geocaching.com. It is larger than previous years (not our decision) but being larger means a nicer coin but more expensive than previous years' coins - the cost of each coin is $20. We suggest pre-ordering a coin from us to ensure you secure one or they can be purchased from us at the event. AFTER PARTY
In case you are not aware, because the 12th of December falls on a Wednesday, we decided to hold another event happening on the 15th of December as a continuation of this event. The "after party" event will include games, activities and prizes and is being hosted at the Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre from midday to 6pm. Following that event will be a CITO. We hope to see you there too!
