A cache localiza-se numas termas abandonadas, Num vale a poente do Santuário de N. Sra do Almortão, no Concelho de Idanha-a-Nova.
Os banhos tiveram fama no início do séc. XX.
This cache is located in an abandoned spa, a valley to the west of the Shrine of Our Lady of Almortão of, in the County of Idanha-a-Nova.
The baths had fame in the early 20th Century.
Este espaço fazia outrora parte do circuito dos romeiros do Almortão, aqui se vinham lavar antes dos actos religiosos. Actualmente esquecido, só raramente tem alguns utentes que levam as águas em garrafões para curar feridas.
Na década de 1950 esta água começou a ser bombeada para o santuário, onde, além de dar serventia às suas necessidades, alimentava uma fonte que os romeiros consideravam a “Fonte Santa”.
A Casa de Banhos tem sobre a porta a inscrição “N S 1927”. Antecedendo esta construção, encontra-se a nível do solo um comprido e baixo tanque (10x1,30m), que deverá ser a parte mais antiga do conjunto, e possível local de banhos antes da construção do balneário. Este tanque é alimentado pela descarga de uma bica, colocada num plano superior e que serviria para a ingestão de água.
Subindo alguns degraus nas traseiras dos banhos localiza-se a horta.
Na descida para os banhos, do lado esquerdo do caminho, encontra-se a boca de uma mina do século XIX, actualmente seca.

O Santuário de N. Sr.ª do Almortão – Idanha-a-Nova (3ºDomingo de Páscoa e 15 de Agosto) é um dos mais frequentados santuários da Beira, possivelmente fundado sobre um lugar de culto pré-romano dedicado a Igaedus. O documento mais antigo que nomeia o Santuário é de 1229. O templo existente é do século XVIII, a que foi acrescentado um alpendre em 1813.
This area was once part of the circuit of the pilgrims of the Sanctuary. People would came here to wash before religious acts. Currently forgotten, only rarely has some users who take water in bottles to heal wounds.
In the 1950s this water began to be pumped into the sanctuary, where, in addition to usefulness to their needs, a source that fed the pilgrims considered the "Holy Spring."
The Bath House is on the door marked "NS 1927". Preceding this building, located at ground level and a long low tank (10x1, 30m), to be the oldest part of the set, and possible bathing site before the construction of the resort. This tank is powered by a discharge spout, placed on a higher plane.
Going up some stairs at the back of the baths is located the garden.
On the descent to the baths at the left side of the path, is the mouth of a water mine from the 19th century, now dry.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Almortão - Idanha-a-Nova (3rd Sunday of Easter and 15th of August ) is one of the most frequented shrines of Beira, possibly founded on a place of worship dedicated to pre-Roman Igaedus. The oldest document appointing the Sanctuary is 1229. The existing temple is of the eighteenth century, to which was added a porch in 1813.
