Geocache Description:

Navigate your way to coordinates N 42°08.909 W 080°07.861.  PISP is sponsoring a “Geo-cache Bash” at the Cookhouse Pavilion on October 13, 2012.  Registration begins at 9:30 am and the hunt starts at 10 am!

There will be approximately 12 temporary geocaches and 2 brand new permanent geo-caches hidden at various places throughout the park. Each cache will vary in difficulty level.  Each cache will contain its own random code which is to be recorded on a data sheet when found.  There is a $3.00 fee per data sheet. Pre-registration is not required. Bring your own GPS unit and packed lunch or enjoy one of the many local eateries directly outside of the park.
For more information about this, or other programs, please call the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC) at (814)-833-7424.  The park office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.  The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally-related activities.

If you need accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks: at 888-PA-PARKS (voice,) (717) 558-2710 (local or international voice,) 711 (AT&T Relay Services.)  With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.

Media contact: Ray Bierbower, (814) – 833-0793
The event may have fewer caches due to the invasive plant work that is occuring on the park. If the weather does not cooperate for Friday, part of the park may be closed if the weather works out on Saturday. Find Presque Isle State Park on Facebook for updates throughout the day. Sorry for any inconvenience.
