Geocache Description:

A beautiful wide open area with easy access. Cache is not hard to find this one is about the location and the beauty of the surroundings and an interesting spot.

Less than 10 kilometers off Highway 99. From Cache Creek you will turn left and follow the main road. When we first went out here a few years ago we were looking for a cache up above Cache Creek, we went in the back way. This time we were looking for rocks and didn't realize until we got to Lillooet that there was another cache on this road. We thought the area was very beautiful and that more people should see it so we placed a simple cache here.
If you do come here be sure to go right from the cache and up to the top of the little hill for an even better view and you might want to bring a camera.
I named the cache because of the Xanthoria elegans that is at the location (also known as Elegant Orange) at least I believe thats what it is. Apparently orange splashed of Zanthoria on rocky cliffs have assisted biologists in locating raptor perches, eyries and seabird nesting sites. Patches of this lichen have also been found on graves of members of  Sir John Franklins expedition. I hadnt really planned to place a cache here but just enjoyed the beauty of the area and happended to have a container handy. Unfortunately I did not have a pencil so you will need to bring your own writing instrument.
