Geocache Description:

This is a three stage multi that is entirely on the island. FTF rights given to those that paddled with me today.

This cache is not available between April 1 and May 1 every year. This is due to the nesting of birds in the area. If you attempt to log during this time it will be removed and any future attempts to log will have the same effect. Monticello is a reservoir in the state of South Carolina, built to provide water for the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Generating Station. It is located in Jenkinsville. While it does not dam any major rivers, its outflow flows directly into Parr Reservoir, an artificial lake created along the Broad River, via the Fairfield Pumped Storage power station. This lake offers picnic shelters, fishing, boat ramp and other water recreational activities. The Fairfield Recreation Commission operates a park at the lake. For information on the park area, contact the commission at (803)635-9114. The smaller Monticello Recreation Lake is located north of the large body of water and is about 300 acres in size. This park area offers fishing two days a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays), swimming (no lifeguard on duty) and picnic facilities. Park gates open from sunrise to sunset. The V.C. Summer Nuclear Station Nature Trail is located at the boundary of the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station exclusion area on the lake. Benches, wood duck boxes, blue bird boxes and plant identification markers dot this 1.5 mile trail. HOURS •Days and Hours of Operation: Daily, dawn to dusk

NOTE: At the posted coordinates you will have to do some basic math to obtain the coordinates for Stage 2 and then the same thing to locate the final.

Although we used our kayaks to place this cache it is not a necessity. Powered boat are allowed. It is your responsibility to read and understand all posted signs before attempting to seek this cache. The posted parking coordinates is the launch area that we used but there may be one closer.

Stage 2 is as follows:

N34 19.ABC
W081 19.DEF

Using the double digit number you find at Stage 1 multiply 84.73 for ABC and divide 2299 by the double digit number for the answer to DEF.

The Final is at:

N34 19.GHI
W081 19.JKL

Using the single digit number you find at Stage 2 add a 3 to the end to make a double digit to use in the following formula:

67.08 X ?? = GHI
2535 / ?? = JKL

GOOD LUCK AND AS ALWAYS BE SAFE ON THE WATER!
