Personal Incredulity: 20 Logical Fallacies Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ZombieDragonfly: Alas, with the recent Nuns fire having burned 2/3 of Anadel State Park (including the majority of the caches and stages in the Logical Fallacy series), and with the Logical Fallacy series needing all 21 caches active to be functional, and given we’ve had a good run of nearly five years, it’s time to archive the series and open up the back side of the park for new caches when that part of the park reopens.

Our thanks to all who have enjoyed this series of caches.

Geocache Description:

Personal Incredulity is making the argument that, because you cannot understand something or because you cannot explain something, it must not be true. Personal Incredulity is a variation on the Appeal to Belief where you reason something is true because you, friends, family, or a respected group of people believe it to be true.

Zombie: There is no way that cache is 50 feet up in that tree. No one would ever do that, and besides, it's too dangerous or impossible to climb up there to get the cache.

Dragonfly (10 minutes later): Cache found, log signed... 50 feet up the tree!

This series of caches is dedicated to each of 20 different logical fallacies, one for each fallacy. The 20 fallacies in this series do not represent all the possible fallacies but should provide a good start for any student of logic.

In addition to the 20 Logical Fallacy Series caches, there is a series final: "20 Logical Fallacies: Series Final" (GC3W7C7). The cache description in the series final contains a list of the 20 caches in the series, their names and GC numbers for easy reference.

If possible, you want to read the description of the final before logging any of the 20 caches in the series as that description contains instructions on how to arrive at the final's coordinates!

Team ZombieDragonfly hopes you enjoy the tour of some of the less frequently visited parts of Annadel State Park (and the one cache which takes you outside the park) and, who knows, you just may learn a thing or two about logic!

This particular cache is in an old quarry just off Warren Richardson Trail which has a staircase leading up to it from the trail. We've always found the staircase an interesting oddity. Lots of muggles wander back here, so please take care to replace the cache as found.

Congratulations to Team Dromomania for being FTF!
