The other day I was teaching Zombie Jr a lesson about magnetism from her science textbook. We both enjoyed the experiments and both thought out loud that this may be something we could incorporate into a geocache. Well several home and field trials later and voila, you have "Zombie Jr's Science Project - Magnetism".
I've rated this cache a 5 terrain as you will need special equipment for this one (read the title!!!). I would suggest any Rare Earth Neodymium magnet will do, but will one suffice? This cache has a few tricks up it's sleeve, that may require you to become innovative in your approach to getting this. By innovative, I don't mean tearing the "Project" off the pole either. We have field tested this cache with a few different types of "strong" magnets and were able to get the cache with some effort. I've rated the difficulty as a four, but you may simply be able to pull up and grab this one the first shot, or maybe not. In any event, there as a few obstacles that one must overcome to be able to sign the bison tube log, but I'm sure most cachers will be able to figure it out.
So again, this cache requires the use of "Special Equipment" and that equipment isn't water, nor a coat hanger. Neither will work and both will damage the cache. The cache is meant to be challenging, yet fun. If you absolutely can't figure it out, I'll come out anf help you personally.
I hope you have as much fun with this cache as Jr and I did putting it together and testing it. Again, it can be done with some innovative thinking. My last "test" had the bison tube in my hand in about a minute. So please enjoy and as with all Canadianzombie caches, have fun.
Cheers
