Geocache Description:

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games.  The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Glimmer is a career tribute from the seventy-fourth annual Hunger Games. For her entrance in the chariot parade she was spray painted silver but in the film she wore a hot pink headwear and a long pink dress alongside Marvel. In her interview she wore a see through golden dress but in the film it was a short pink dress. Katniss described her as sexy. Glimmer told Caesar Flickerman in the interview that she was prepared. The next morning Katniss cut a tracker jacker wasp nest on the careers while they slept and Glimmer fell behind and hysterically twitched and tumbled on the ground until she died, her body swollen and her face was blue with pus coming from her cheeks. Glimmer once again appeared in the book as a muttation, which was created by use of her DNA by the Capitol.

District 1

District 1 specializes in producing luxury items such as jewelry. Children living there take pride in representing District 1 in the Games, and are often among the group of tributes nicknamed "Careers", who illegally train for the Games from a young age. Katniss calls them "the Capitol's lap dogs" in The Hunger Games book. Once the Games begin, the tributes from the Career-heavy districts (typically Districts 1, 2, and 4) tend to form an alliance until they are forced to fight among themselves to determine the winner. Along with District 2, District 1 is heavily favored by the Capitol and is fairly wealthy compared to the rest of the districts.
