池島はかつて炭鉱の島として栄えていた島です。池島炭鉱は、2001年に閉山しましたが、現在は、残った施設を利用して、炭鉱の技術を見学出来る見学ツアーが設けられています。
また、炭鉱だけでなく、古く昭和の感じを残した町並みが多く、島を散策するだけでも色々と発見があります。
キャッシュは島の玄関口の港に設置しました。
池島へは、大瀬戸と神浦からフェリー/高速船で訪れることが出来ます。
船の時刻に注意して、島でのジオキャッシングをお楽しみ下さい。
なお、日曜日は島のほとんどすべてがお休みです（商店等）。日曜日は、島内での食料の調達が難しいのでご注意下さい。

IKESHIMA(池島) is famous for coal mine in Nagasaki. Mining is already stoped. but, Inspection tour is holding for tourist.
In addition to coal mine, There are nostalgic town in IKESHIMA.
Cache is placed at the port.
You can visit by vessel from Oseto(大瀬戸) or Kounoura(神浦).
Be careful vessel time table during Geocaching.
NOTICE: Almost shops are cloed on "Sunday". It is difficult to get foods in the island. Please prepare by yourseld on Sunday.
