Geocache Description:

This cache should be a quick park and grab on a busy main road in a suburb of Lower Hutt. Will definitely require stealth and care with replacement.

Another example of the broadband cabinet art to be found in suburbia, that often gets passed-by without being noticed. After finding quite a few I reckoned they needed a wider (geo-caching) audience.

The broadband cabinets that have sprung up around the country have proven highly susceptible to graffiti, and are often re-targeted soon after the graffiti is cleaned off. The broadband company in conjunction with local councils, runs a programme of beautifying these boxes, with the hope this will discourage graffiti, and giving the local community a piece of artwork they can enjoy. Many of these cabinets in Hutt City are receiving brightly coloured artworks carried out by local artisits. Each cabinet is painted in a different theme, often in consultation with the local residents. The company prioritise those cabinets that are most frequently hit with graffiti.

I considered adding a photo to the cache description, but thought it better to let cache-finders experience the art as they come upon it. {I may add a photo at a later date}.

The artists for this particular work are Kane "Scream" Smith (a former graffiti artist) and Emily Roberts. This particular piece is not as bright as others, and camouflages well with surroundings. Make sure you check out the backside as well for another stunning native bird. The painting itself is done with aerosols and test pots, and then coated with a hard-wearing anti-graffiti sealant.

This cache is hidden a little differently to the previous caches in this series. Due to a cache-proximity issue, and an adjacent property having a number of rowdy, inquisitive dogs the Cabinet Art can be found at the WP1 waypoint coordinates, while the cache itself is a very short distance away.

Please replace exactly as you found it. Use stealth and any required covertness/deception to avoid bringing this cache to the attention of muggles. A writing implement will also be necessary!
