ZaZou was my Australian Shepherd and love of my life who died in 2010. She is still greatly missed by her K9 pack and I.
This cache is a medium Lock-N-Lock not far off of the FLT, and is placed right along the way to ZaZou's Golden Ammo Can cache.
I placed this cache along the Finger Lakes Trail in Steam Mill state forest. The trail leads up hill to a special tribute hide placed by ZaZou's friends Team-Ducky in May 2011 to remember her time as my caching partner and well-loved friend.
It's called ZaZou's Golden Ammo Can, and is a Premium Member only cache to keep it safe. It was placed in honor of her time hiking the trails and sniffing out the caches with her pack over the course of the first THREE years we went out caching. In that time she was with me for almost every cache I did, and our total finds up until the day she left for the Rainbow Bridge was nearly 2100 caches! The last cache we did together was Ding Dong Merrily On High (Christmas Cache). We did that cache at exactly the stroke of midnight on a clear, starlit, and snow covered Christmas eve 2010 as our 61st FTF.....she died peacefully and loved in my arms the very next day at 3PM. Since that sad day, my pack and I have gotten THOUSANDS of smileys and HUNDREDS of FTF's, but it's not the same and I will always remember the time ZaZou and I spent together.
