Geocache Description:


Get outside and celebrate National Public Lands Day at the Campbell Creek Science Center on Saturday, September 29th from 1:30-4:30 PM*. There will be various stations with outdoor activities other than geocaching, so come prepared to get your outdoors on! At the geocaching station you can meet with seasoned geocachers and folks new to geocaching to hone your navigating skills, share your experiences and get a sneak peek to October’s upcoming Blue Goose GeoTour (BGGT)!

Since you must fly or boat to get to nearly all of Alaska’s Refuges, we are bringing the refuges to you! The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is partnering with the Anchorage Parks Foundation and GeocacheAlaska! to bring you the BGGT- a series of 16 geocaches that have been hidden at 16 of the 223 Anchorage Parks. Each geocache features one of Alaska's amazing National Wildlife Refuges. The BGGT officially launches in October, but geocachers that participate at NPLD will be privy to pre-released coordinates. Who wants to log some FTFs?
