We don't want to litter our environment with Geotrash and if you have any TB's or coins in your cache I'm sure the owners would want them moved on.

Geocache Description:

This cache is on a local walk way along the Beautiful Gawler River

My family and I have lived in Hewett since 2004 and have watched this area evolve and grow. In August 2005 the area where the cache is located was completely under water. Gawler river over flowed and from my house, all we could see was water. Since then the local government initiatives along with Councils have created wetlands and other water catchments to prevent further floods. Since 2005, existing paths have been extended and joined to create a great walking or bike path. My family, along with many, many others utilise these trails on a daily basis.

When I came looking for spots to place this cache I headed straight this location as I can remember so many times coming and seeing fun happening. Sometimes I have seen kids fishing with their Dads, kids skimming stones on the water or listening to various animals like ducks, parrots, rabbits, frogs or kookaburras. On this day, as I approached the area I could hear laughing coming in the distance. In the lagoon, three teenagers had brought a kayak and were appearing to be having a great time. I thought, again this spot makes me smile!!

Although I have never seen a slithering friend, please be aware in high risk times of the year. As the description states, all creatures great and small or slithering!! As there is water nearby take caution and when placing hands in places you can't see.

In celebration of reaching 1000 finds and realising how beautiful my surroundings are, I have been placing caches in this beautiful location. This cache acknowledges the local animals that also enjoy this beautiful location. Not all creatures great and small are quite so appreciated, so take caution when retrieving this cache if you don’t like small, crawly creatures.

Enjoy walking this trail and if you have the time I urge you to bring your kids, pooch, iPod or anything you prefer and take a walk in this beautiful location. It is a hop skip and a jump to Clonlea Park where there are toilets, tennis courts, BBQ’s, a small playground and lots of lots of room to kick a ball and explore.

The cache is a small sistema container that has been camouflaged and may have a guardian protecting it!! When placing cache back please ensure that it is well hidden as it is on the walking track and will be easily seen if not covered. There is plenty of things to use.

Enjoy.
