This is a monument "In memory of officers and men of Patrol Squadron Twenty Three, United Staes Navy, who gave their lives on May 7, 1954 in the service of their country and the Free World. "
"Three hundred yards south of this point, ten valiant young airmen died in the crash of a P2V aircraft while performing a mission designed to make the United States and the Free World more capable of protecting themselves in the event of another war."
The cache is located off South-West Road on the southwestern side of New Providence Island. It is close the Albany Development as well as Stuart Cove's Dive Centre. ** I highly discourage walking to the zone **. You should take a drive out here and when you are done, check out the Clifton Pier memorial if you continue West from the zone (there may be a cache there too).
I would estimate it is about a 35 - 40 minute drive from Downtown Nassau, but you get to see a bit more of the island.
