Fall is in the air! Come join the Stuck in the Middle Cachers for an outdoor breakfast in the spirit of tailgating.
The fall is here!
The air is crisp. Leaves are changing colors and falling off trees. Heck, maybe we'll have seen a little snow (hopefully not!) Either way, it's time for an event!
And with fall is football and such. Even if you're not a football fan, you must know what tailgating is! People gather, have some food, chat for a bit and then go off to a game.
Maybe with geocaching, it's slightly different.
We'll have some food. And after, some might head off to a high school football game or a college game or head home and watch football. Others will head out to find caches. Who knows what others will do.
But get your day started right and meet us for this event.
The event will run from 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. at the posted coordinates, which should take you to the small pavilion in Oneonta's Neahwa Park. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations this time of year, and, most likely the picnic tables will be missing. No problem. Drop a couple of tailgates and maybe a folding table and we'll be good to go.
We did an event like this back in 2008 and made it a potluck breakfast. I'd like to do it the same as then. I'll plan on bringing some bagels to share. If you are coming, please post a will-attend log and what you might bring. Some ideas could include: donuts, fruit, spreads (cream cheese etc.), water, coffee, hot chocolate and whatever else people might have for breakfast that can be done.
Come and enjoy the outdoors!
This event will be held in all weather, with the hopes of having the pavilion to have cover. If it's severe weather, check this the day before/morning of for any announcements!
Dog note -- because I've noticed more people caching with pooches and mentioned that to some of the park people, they reminded me to tell cachers that dogs are welcome in the park, but they must be on a leash at all times (even in the colder weather)!
See you at the event!
