Geocache Description:

magnetic cache,  Plenty of parking.  Quiet spot. Please replace carefully...

I guess you could say this is Bill's boulevard.  For more than a dozen years Bill has filled the boulevard with an outstanding display of  Christmas lights, complete with sleigh and reindeer.  Other residents lend a hand and those who have come and gone have donated their lights to the project; but Bill has remained the constant, driving force.  Isn't it nice when people take pride in their neighbourhood?
You may have noticed, Bill's boulevard is located in McCracken place and which is named after another notable Oyen resident, Dr. James Angus McCracken.  In spite of taking time off to serve as a RAF tail gunner during WWII, Dr. Mccracken graduated from medical school in Edmonton in 1950.  On Oct.14,1954 he moved to Oyen and practised medicine here until June 15,1986.  During his 32 years of dedicating himself to our community, (many of those years as the only physician in the area), he delivered 1,196 babies, including 11 sets of twins!  Often "Doc"had delivered both parents and all the kids in a family.  Our debt to these tireless small town physicians is immeasurable!
Enjoy the search and don't forget to wave to Bill!
