La Batalla
Hoy, 24 de Setiembre del 2012 se cumplen 200 años de la Batalla de Tucumán.
Lamentablemente son pocos los que saben lo importante que resultó está victoria dentro de las luchas por la Independencia Americana: El Gral. Manuel Belgrano se había hecho cargo del desmoralizado Ejército del Norte luego de la derrota de Huaqui. Sus órdenes eran claras: Retroceder hasta Córdoba, dejando la suerte del actual norte argentino librada al azar, así como (indirectamente) la supervivencia de la Revolución de Mayo.
Al pasar por Tucumán, el apoyo incondicional de los lugareños hizo que Belgrano cambiara de opinión y decidiera frenar el avance realista.
Contra toda lógica, con la mitad de hombres y armamentos, los patriotas vencieron, haciendo que los españoles retrocedieran hasta Salta, dónde finalmente serán derrotados el 20 de febrero de 1813

The Battle
Today, September 24, 2012 is the 200th anniversary of Battle of Tucumán.
Unfortunately few people know how important it is turned victory in the struggle for American Independence: Gen. Manuel Belgrano had been demoralized by the Northern Army after the defeat of Huaqui. His orders were clear: Rewind to Cordoba, leaving the fate of the current haphazard northern Argentina, and the survival of the May Revolution.
Passing Tucumán, clear unconditional support of the locals made Belgrano changed his mind and decided to stop the advance realistic.
Perversely, with half of men and arms, the Patriots won, making the Spanish receded to Salta, where finally be defeated on February 20, 1813
