An easily accessible cache that is available throughout the year. Be sure to bring a pen.
At one time in this park there was a cache that was hidden in a Russian submarine. After the sub sank this area was closed for a long time. The construction on the I-195 bridge project further delayed the opening.
There is historic significance about this site that is explained on some signs. An example is the remnants of the coal processing equipment that has been restored. The name of the park refers to a bulk cargo ship which carried coal to be unloaded for the generation of electricity.
There is also a good boat ramp that provides a convenient access to the Providence River.
