Geocache Description:

'Killin Junction Station' opened on 1st April 1886, providing passengers on the 'Callander & Oban Railway' with a connection to Killin by the newly opened 'Killin Railway'.

The station was situated in the woodlands on the slopes leading up to the Glen Ogle pass and, apart from the railway, could be reached by a pathway through the woods only.

The station was closed on 27th September 1965 following a landslide in Glen Ogle.
Nowadays a forestry road following the track of the old line to Killin leads from the A85 to the location.
There are still traces of the platforms, a few derelict former railway houses and the line to Glen Ogle.

If aproaching from the A85, park at N56 26.405 W004 21.276, on the old trackbed between Lix Toll Garage and Wester Lix entrance.
A gentle uphill stroll to the cache site.

Or as a continuation from the 'Glenoglehead Station' cache, an easy cycle ride or walk.
