Hoyt Park Cache In Trash Out Event!!!
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
We are very excited to be hosting our first geocaching event. We will provide bags and disposable gloves to use in gathering trash in and around the park. There will be at least 10 new caches placed by the organizers for your hunting pleasure while you help make the park a more beautiful place. Some new caches will be in the park and some will be in the surrounding neighborhood. Everyone is invited to bring their own picnic lunch and something to share if they wish.
The first 6 registered geocachers to sign in at the welcome table will receive a goodie bag filled with things that will be sure to make you smile.
Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories to be announced at the event. In addition, there will be a raffle drawing of donated items that we consider valuable to geocachers (you MUST be present to win). If you wish to donate something for the raffle drawing, please bring it along or contact one of the event organizers ahead of time if you prefer.
It would be a good idea to bring chairs along.
FYI: The Green Bay Packers take on the Houston Texans at 7:20pm Central Time so football fans will be home in plenty of time to watch the game!!!
