Geocache Description:

I've admired this beautiful spectator area overlooking the ball diamond for some time. Return after the game if there is one going on. The original hide was inside one of the rocks. During fall 2014 the artist restored his work. Now the caches is a simple magnetic nano and there is no need to move the stones.

The details on the art (from calgary.ca):

'From the Clouds to the Water' - Artist George Duncan

is a collection of forged and wrought iron railing panels and benches. River rock was incorporated into the design process and enables the architectural elements to blend into the natural environment. The flowing lines of the pieces suggest both a feeling of flow and movement, while maintaining a tranquil, calming effect. The undulating lines were created using traditional blacksmithing techniques.

The pieces are located in the northwest corner of the Killarney Dry Pond at 28 Ave. and 30 St. S.W.

George Duncan is a local Calgary artist who expresses his artistic vision through mixed media sculpture and functional art.

His work can be found all over the world and is most often created using forged metal, exotic wood, glass, and/or stone.

In addition to creating his unique pieces, George conducts workshops in traditional blacksmithing, as well as in building twig and log furniture, out of his Artpoint Studio located in the Ramsey area of Calgary.
