The 100 Day Challenge Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This is a challenge cache! The cache is actually located at the posted coordinates.

In order to log the cache as found, you must have a streak of 100 consecutive days or more with finds... Of course you don't have to do it again if you already have accomplished this task prior to the publishing of this cache.

Because my stats will forever be tainted with a 588 day streak WITHOUT a find, I had to find a way to try and make up for it... First I just tried to break my previous find streak (super easy). Then I got the idea in my head to go a whole month with a daily find (easy still!). Then I thought, why don't I try for 100 days?? (really wasn't too hard!)

Now all I can think about is trying to qualify for the 365 day challenge! If I keep going it will certainly start to get harder as I have already begun to cache out the areas surrounding where I work and live.

For some of you I know this may not be possible without spending a lot of time every day driving long distances just for a cache. For others, maybe it will help you to clear out any close DNFs or ones you haven't felt like grabbing, just to get your streak on.

I really do enjoy grabbing a cache every day. Sure it usually means I spend my whole lunch break from work making a grab and have little time to eat, but I am glad to get outside and enjoy the hunt... It keeps me SANE

At time of placement I was at a 101 day streak, and after placement of course I went caching so that makes 102 days! I plan to keep going and hope to hit 365 days or more!

------------------

The cache itself is hidden in a seldom traveled part of Annadel SP... I came over from Canyon trail and and the way I went was definitely not the easiest. I was unsure of the terrain and had no idea where I was going to place the cache. When I finally found the spot, I honestly had no idea other than the track my GPS was showing how I ended up there... Looking at it now, I think the easiest way would have been to come in from Canyon Trail near "Turkey Feather" and then head directly South from there. If you go that way be prepared for a moderately steep hike with gain of about 300 ft traveling over a quarter mile from Canyon Trail...

Please be my guest and do your own research or take from experience to find the best way up. Like I said I pretty much stumbled upon the spot I chose to place the cache and the way I went was certainly not the easiest. I have not actually tried going the way I described above so please don't hold me liable if my directions are no good! I urge you to find your own way if you are the least bit skeptical of my directions.

The hide is not very hard, but it will require a small amount of climbing or at least standing on a low branch if you have a good reach (hint)... Container is a small 3" diameter camo'd jar.

I took a few averaged set of coordinates while at GZ and then averaged them again manually, however there is always tree cover to throw it's wrench in the machine...

Feel free to take the journey to GZ and sign the log whenever you choose, however I do ask you to not log the find until you complete the challenge. It's optional to post a picture of your statistics with your found log, as I plan on verifying all found logs as we go and will delete any that don't qualify

Hope you guys enjoy completing challenge if you have not done so, be safe, and have fun out there!!!
