Hirvaskosken kylä sijaitsee Pudasjärvellä noin 20 kilometriä keskustasta Kuusamon suuntaan. Kylän asutus keskittyy alueen halki virtaavan Hirvasjoen rantamille. Kylän asutuksella on vanha historia.1800-luvulla kylällä on toiminut Ruotsista tulleiden sukujen perustama Timosen rautaruukki, joka on valmistanut harkkorautaa lähialueen järvistä nostetusta järvi-ja suomalmista. Masuunin toiminta päättyi 1877 tulipaloon. Koskessa on ollut myös mylly-ja sahalaitos. Kosken voimaa hyödyntää vielä nykyäänkin pieni vesivoimala, joka tuottaa sähköä valtakunnan sähköverkkoon.
Kätkö on vanhan Hirvaskosken kartanon päärakennuksen takana olevalla Myllyvaaralla ja sille on alueen omistajien lupa. Lähesty paikkaa rauhallisesti, jotta lähettyvillä olevat hevostarhat eivät häiriinny. Aivan pihoille ei tarvitse mennä. Autolla pääsee noin 250 metrin päähän kätköstä, ensin Hirvaskosken tietä ja sitten Kopukantietä pitkin. Kätkön voi löytää myös talvella, jos lunta on vähemmän kuin yksi metri. Loppumaasto on vaikeakulkuista.

Village of Hirvaskoski is located along river Hirvasjoki about 20 kilometers from the town center of Pudasjärvi towards Kuusamo. In the 1900’s there has been an iron work of Timonen which manufactured iron ingots made of lake and mire ore. Iron work worked until 1877 when it accidentally burned down. There has also been a water mill in the river rapids. A little power plant is still producing electricity to the grid.
Cache is located on the hill Myllyvaara behind the manor of Hirvaskoski. You can reach the cache site driving road Hirvaskoskentie and road Kopukantie. Approach the cache carefully because of horses. You don’t need to go to frontyards of the houses. You have to live your vehicle about 250 metres from the cache site. Cache is findable also in the winter time if there is less than one meter of snow. There is land owners' permission for this cache.
