Här var tidigare infarten till Tullgarns slott, det vitputsade huset kallas grindstugan och fram till 1870 låg det ett likadant hus till på andra sidan vägen. Tullgarns slott är ett av 11 kungliga slott och ligger vid Tullgarnsviken. Platsen har anor från 1200-talet. En första slottsliknande anläggning Stureborgen byggdes i slutet av 1500-talet. Nuvarande slott uppfördes genom Magnus Julius De la Gardies initiativ och stod klart 1727.
Vid slottet finns en cache till, det finns även en vacker park och möjligheter att få något i magen.
Huset uppe på berget heter Bellevue. Huset uppfördes omkring 1788 på initiativ av hertig Fredrik Adolf för hertigens officiella mätress Sophie Hagman. Senare användes huset som sommarnöje av Sofia Albertina, som bodde här flera gånger för att "dricka brunn". Där allén och landsvägen idag korsar varann fanns då en välsmakande källa där även slottet hämtade sitt färskvatten.
This is the former entrance to Tullgarn, the whitewashed house is the gatehouse and until 1870 there was a similar house to the other side of the road. Tullgarn is one of 11 royal palaces and located at Tullgarn Bay. The place dates back to the 1200s. A first castle-like facility Stureborgen (Sture Castle) was built in the late 1500's. The current castle was built by Magnus Julius De la Gardie and was completed 1727.
At the castle you have another cache, a beautiful park and some possibilities to get something to eat.
The house up on the hill is called Bellevue. The house was built around 1788 on the initiative of Duke Frederick Adolf, fot his official mistress Sophie Hagman. Later it was used as a summer house by princess Sofia Albertina, who lived here several times to drink the presumely healthy water from the now gone spring that was found where the avenue and road today crosses each other. Even the castle brought their fresh water from this spring.
