This is a lovely walk through the hills on the north of Strathearn on the southern flanks of Carn Chois along the Highland Boundary fault.
The cache trail is along the walk from Loch Turret to the mountainbike trails/walks at Braincroft near Comrie.
The walk is on a decent landrover track and with a short section over rugged moorland. It is described as a walk but it is a brilliant mountainbike trail if you keep to the landrover track.
This the the top of the walk and the halfway point
The rock here is a glacial deposit that the ice brought here. Several glacial periods have occurred during the Pleistocene and glaciers occupied Strathearn at times. The ice eroded steep sided valleys and dug out the Loch Earn basin. When it eventually melted, typical glacial features and deposits such as this boulder were left on the landscape.
If you want to test your climbing skills and climb on top of the rock the superb views will be even better.
*****Congratulations to Cookster, Doozin Tiger & Lynn (the non cacher) on a joint FTF *****
