This is #7 of the 7 caches I've placed in the New Hartford area.
The F5 tornado that formed on Memorial Day 2008 left two fatalities in the New Hartford area. "Norm" was the first. He lost his life near here. If you look south west from GZ, you'll see a hill with scrub brush and new growth and the older trees around this area, that's how wide the tornado was in this area. Many years ago my parents lived on the acreage just sw of GZ. All four houses on this hill were completely destroyed. An earth home is being constructed where my parents house used to stand.
This is a wooden bridge and the only parking is on the side of the road. Be careful and don't fall over!! This is a micro with a little green for the FTF. Play fair and let someone else have a chance at a FTF. This is not for children or wheel chairs; the ditches are deep. It should be a quick P&G.
This is the last of the seven caches I placed in the New Hartford area commemorating the spring of 2008. This community has risen out of the destruction of an F5 tornado and a "hundred year" flood. They've worked very hard raising money and the volunteers made it all happen, so go find the rest of the caches if you haven't already.
