If your house is 100 years old or older. Chances are the lumber came from this location.
From 1904-1918 the largest employer in Clearwater county was located here. With over 500 employees the Nicohols-Chisholm Company logged the vast forests of northern Minnesota. During the depression years it was used as a CCC camp and also served as a VCC camp in 1933. All that remains today is the chimney of this once grand structure. A Plaque near the chimney gives more information.
