Geocache Description:

The Kaiser Pass road is the entrance to the Mono Basin. At over 9000 feet it is what determines when you can get into the area. Road crews normally open the road for the Memorial Day Holiday.

This cache is located up a dirt road that leads upward from the pass summit. It does have a few spots that are challenging for 2 wheel drive vehicles. If you have difficulty you can easily hike to the cache. Remember you are at 9600 feet and the air is thin.

As the name of the cache implies you are at the start of a very challenging 4 wheel drive road. It was designed and build for extreme off roading. Do attempt this in the average 4 wheel drive vehicle.

The cache is only 60 feet from the signs and the parking. A photo is include to get you to the right area. The ammo box filled with kids toys is guarded by two rocks.

Be sure to enjoy the spectacular views the Mono Basin, Edison Lake and Bear Dome.

Happy hunting!
