Geocache Description:

Ett perfekt ställe för TB och mynt.

A perfect place for Travelbugs and coins.

In the grassy area between Strandgatan and Travemündeallén two sculptures are to be found:

Längtan (Longing), is a female figure made of bronze. It makes you wonder what she longs for? William Zadig (1884-1952) made this. He studied in Berlin and was a part of the Swedish artistcolony in Paris 1908 - 1912.

Standad flyktingbåt (Wrecked refugeeboat), Heimweh, was created by Chris Bording to remember all the victims of World War II and their vulnerable situation. During and after World War II many civilian and military refugees made their way to coastal cities, including Trelleborg.

In the summertime a lot of palmtrees are placed along Strandgatan, from which the city got its nickname Palmstaden (Palmcity) (and we our alias here on Geocaching ) and in the winter the palmtrees are replaced with Christmastrees.
