Geocache Description:

Some History and a small cache located on the Kennett Square / Kennett Township border

In 1810 Kennett Square was nothing more then a village having 8 dwellings 5 of which were log cabins making it one of the largest villages in the area. During the War of 1812 some 3000 men under the command of General Bloomfield drilled and practiced at the Kennett Square water works now called Anson B Nixon Park.
This  historic plaque until recently was over grown. I had passed it almost every day never stopping to read it. Being a local history buff I figured this would be a great location for my first cache in 8 years. Read a little learn a little now close your eyes and just imagine this area 200 years ago and how it must have looked like.
