VISIT CORRAN NARROWS Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Fungimanforager: I would like to take this opportunity to offer my most sincere apologies and thanks to the vast number of responsible geocachers out there who thankfully are in the majority; that may have found a little pleasure mixed no doubt at times, with other more personal emotions while casting aspersions upon my parentage after finding some of my geocaches, or not, as the case may be?

This game is in many ways reminds me of "Monopoly" in that it attracts all kinds who play according to their own conscience, some would steal from the "Bank" in order to beat their siblings? In light of recent activity across a number of my geocaches (Park & Ride 1-40) I have reluctantly decided thats perhaps is now the right time for me play this game differently and so will be archiving those caches that attract the mindless selfish, disrespectful minority.

No doubt some of the Twitter/FB fraternity; anonymous or otherwise will have their say on this course of action but quite honestly, I have been abused by EXPERT's during a 22yr previous life; so to them I say "crack on" the world and this game would be a better place without you?

I would like to offer my kind regards to all, together with thanks for all those interesting logs, pictures and favourite points. THANK YOU

Have fun
Tony

Geocache Description:

CORRAN FERRY

CORRAN FERRY

Operated by Highland Council, the Corran Ferry is one of few remaining mainland vehicle ferries in Scotland. The route crosses Loch Linnhe from Nether Lochaber to Ardgour, at the Corran Narrows, nine miles south of Fort William.

It was noted for the unusual sign "This is not the Ballachulish Ferry". The ferry links the main A82 road with Morvern, Moidart and Ardnamurchan, via the village of Strontian.

It also provides a link to Lochaline, thirty miles to the south west, from where a ferry crosses to Mull. Close to the western slipway are Corran Lighthouse and the Ardgour Inn. The route lies on one of the ancient drove routes from the Hebrides to the cattle markets in Central Scotland.
