But where are you now?
The Shire of Gingin is a unique and exciting place in which to live and visit. Covering an area of 3, 325 square kilometres and has a population in excess of 4,500, the Shire of Gingin is one of the fastest growing and developing rural shires in Western Australia, and its strategic location to the immediate north of the City of Wanneroo ensures that it will continue to experience significant growth and change.

Why “Gingin”, your might ponder?
In the Noongar language, one interpretation of ‘Gin’ is foot, or step, and ‘Gin Gin’ many feet or steps, and by extension walking, or journey. Everyone is moving forward on this journey together, exploring our shared future while acknowledging both the history of the Yued people and that of the European settlers. This journey truly belongs to all of us.

Who are the Yeud?
The Noongar (alternatively spelt Nyungar, Nyoongar, Nyoongah, Nyungah, or Noonga) are an Indigenous Australian people who live in the south-west corner of Western Australia, from Geraldton on the west coast to Esperance on the south coast. The Yued are Noongar people who traditionally inhabit areas of the Geraldton Sandplains and the Swan Coastal Plain, and includes the lands around Jurien, Moora, Lancelin, and Gingin.

Now for the real reason you have been brought here:

Before or after your search, I hope you will take a few minutes to look around. Take note of the rubbish that is strewn up and down the roadside. This is good opportunity for you to do a bit of CITO (Cache In, Trash Out) and help clean up a bit. Hopefully you have come prepared and have a plastic shopping bag or two with you. It only takes a few minutes to fill up them up and then dispose of them in any of the roadside rubbish bins that have been provided.

Thankyou.

Oh, and don’t forget to find that cache while you are here:
