Geocache Description:

This cache is placed upon the crown of a rocky island near Cemetary Island, on Lake Cumberland. The cache is a small container hidden at one of the highest points of the island.

This rocky island, which some local boaters refer to as Scorpion Island, is located right next to Cemetery Island, just a short distance from the well know Low Gap Island (on the way to the Dam from the Jamestown Marina and the State Dock).  The cache is located at one of the highest "points"  (hint, hint).  At the current lake levels the island grants a great view of the lake from its crown, while providing a great supply of smooth rocks for skippin' across the water at the lower banks. Cemetery Island is currently under water at the present lake level, but is marked by a caution buoy.

I am not certain if the nickname of Scorpion Island comes from the actual finding of such critters, but do be careful. As with the hide on Cemetery Island (now closed), this hunt will likely take a boat to complete as well (unlessin' you wants to walk from Wayne County through the Big Woods). The climb to the cache is a moderate one, but not entirely dangerous.  I would use caution if you are taking children, as a stumble from the top may result in Jack breaking his crown. My 7 and 5 year old helped with the hide, so it is possible, but with much caution, redirecting, and threats (caching with kids is the only way to go for me). Happy Hunting
