This cache takes the seeker to the River Common along the Susquehanna River in Wilkes-Barre.
This area was historically a popular place for residents and visitors to take in the Susquehanna River from Wilkes-Barre. Due to flooding the levee system was built which cut off this area from the city. The river's beauty was lost for more than a half century. A fews ago a project was performed to revitalize this area & allow easy access to the river park while not compromising flood protection. The result is a beautiful park, which so far it has not been fully utilized by the community.
Cache is located within the levee system, so avoid during higher flood stages. The county closes access points during higher flows.
The walk may be muddy at times. It is a bit of a walk plus there is limited parking in this area so it isn't a quick cache and dash.
It is located outside of the park mainly to allow other future caches in the park.
The container is small, but does have a log and some swag.
No first to find prize.
