Innan år 1971 utgjorde Skilleby länsgränsen mellan Järna landskommun i Stockholms län och Hölö landskommun i Sörmlands län. Den gamla länsgränsen är fortfarande markerad här strax norr om Skilleby. Idag markerar den gränsen mellan kommundelarna Järna och Hölö/Mörkö och socknarna Hölö och Ytterjärna.
"Stenen" väster om vägen är från 1935 och gjord i gjutjärn. Stenen på östra sidan är från 1744 Texten lyder:

Before the year 1971 Skilleby marked the county border between Järna rural municipality in Stockholm County and Hölö rural municipality in Södermanland County. The old county line is still marked here just north of Skilleby. Today it marks the border between the districts of Järna and Hölö / Mörkö and parishes Hölö and Ytterjärna. </ P>
The "stone" west of the road is from 1935 and is made of cast iron. The stone on the east side is from 1744 and reads:
In the year 1744 in the twentyfifth year of king Friederichs mild government This stone was raised as a border mark between Stockholm county and Nyköping county by Prefect Theod Ankarcrona
