Geocache Description:

Originally this multicache was placed by an Eagle Scout who completed his eagle project developing the trail system on the Rittenhouse Conservation area. We decided to bring this cache back to life. The trails are wide and dog friendly.Trail Branch Reference point provided for easy navigation. No need to enter the Power Lines. Minimal bushwhacking necessary. A micro with coordinates to the final will be your first stop. The final is a medium size lock n lock containing swag and a log book. Chiastolite stones have many small crosses in them, caused by impurities imbedded in the stones centuries ago. These stones have been found on this hill and other parts of Sterling and Lancaster. The stone’s four-point design was sacred within Native American cosmology, as the number denotes directions and seasons. Chiastolites also had a ceremonial use, and we know that because they were found in Middleborough, close to Cape Cod, and Westborough, meaning they didn’t occur naturally. Somebody brought them there.
