Geocache Description:

This is a cache for Halloween, or any day of the year. It's in the woods at Veterans' Memorial Park in Doylestown. If the park rules permitted night caching, I would say that a good time to get this would be late at night, during a full moon, with a hoot owl nearby. However, no night caching is allowed.

For those of you who believe in the supernatural, it must be fun to wander woods at night, knowing that you are prey to any horrid creature who awaits your passage. By the way, when you're home alone at night, locked doors and house walls won't prevent any hideous abomination from opening a fiery chasm beneath you and pulling you down to unspeakable torments. Even now, while you're reading this, some slavering horror could be creeping up behind you, ready to ... well, I'll leave the rest to your imagination. Isn't it nice to know that you have absolutely no defense against such things? WHAT'S THAT OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW ?! I hope that you're reading this at night. And have a nice time in the woods, seeking the cache. While you're signing the log, listen for footfalls on crunchy leaves slowly coming up behind you. Heh, heh, heh.

For this cache, I'm using a "special" container, just for this cache. Heh, heh, heh. The cache contains a log, pencil and a prize for FTF to assist you in preparing next year's tax return correctly, so that a different kind of horrible monster doesn't come after you. No credit without a signature. Because I believe that organic matter (candy, gum, crackers, etc.) has no place in a cache, because it attracts ants and other vermin, I am not leaving any treats for you. However, I am leaving you a few tricks. Heh, heh, heh. (Oh, dear! I wonder what he means by that!?)

As for Halloween music, "Night on Bald Mountain" by Modest Mussorgsky is de rigueur. Another appropriate selection could be "Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Paul Dukas. Both of these works were included in my all-time favorite film, Walt Disney's 1940 masterpiece, "Fantasia". A third good selection would be "Symphonie Fantastique" by Hector Berlioz. With movements having such titles as "March to the Scaffold" and "Dream of a Witches' Sabbath", this work is highly appropriate for Halloween evening listening. As for your Halloween viewing pleasure, I highly recommend "Curse of the Demon", starring Dana Andrews. It's about a cult which is able to conjure up a huge, hideous demon to, uh, "dispose of" people they don't like. It reinforces my earlier statement about your home being no protection from the supernatural.

It's best to use the grassy path, perpendicular to the first base line.

The cache guardians eagerly await you. "Happy" caching. Heh, heh, heh.
